The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) say that “millions of people face extreme hardship and suffering without improved access and a rapid increase in humanitarian assistance” in Ukraine.
So, the Ukrainian Government requests the ICRC to urgently promote the establishment of humanitarian corridors for the delivery of essentials and evacuation of civilians from the warzone.
Despite the fact that the current situation in Ukraine is critical, the ICRC does not actually work. The only humanitarian camp set up in a fairly safe Lviv by Ukrainian volunteers is able to provide all the victims with the necessary care.
Although, the President of ICRC Peter Maurer declared his readiness to help, no other real steps were taken. Moreover, most the Red Cross employees are seeking to leave the country. It turns out that fears for personal safety prevail over the need to fulfill their duty.

Ukraine sincerely hopes that the humanism and philanthropy on which this noble organization is built will prevail, and representatives of the Red Cross will be able to take matters into their own hands and organize humanitarian corridors for civilian victims of the Kremlin’s ruthless in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Chernyhiv, Kherson, Zhytomyr, Sumy and other points of conflict.
